Verbal Behavior Milestones and Placement Program – Level 3.

In other words, VB MAPP Level 3

I have also uploaded a downloadable VB mapp at level 2, you can see that here..

And a downloadable VB mapp for level 1. See that post here..

Understanding Autism and the Role of the VB-MAPP

Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a condition that affects how a person communicates, behaves, and interacts with others.

Kids on the autism spectrum, like my child, often have different ways of learning and socializing, which can vary greatly from one child to another.

To help my child reach their best potential, we needed to start early and find the right support. We actually started as soon as we got their autism diagnosis!

This was also when the VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones and Placement Program) became so important for me.

Growing up with autism and no help made it very difficult for me to make friends and even to understand what was going on around me.

I wish I had something similar to the VB mapp that could have helped me growing up!

The VB-MAPP is a tool that helps measure and track the learning milestones of children with autism or other developmental challenges.

It helps teachers, therapists, and parents see what skills a child already has and where they might need more support.

With this information, it is much easier to create a plan to help our child grow and learn in the best way possible.

Specifically, VB MAPP Level 3 is for children aged 30-48 months. It checks for more advanced skills like speaking more fluently, playing with other kids, and socializing better.

This level builds on what kids learned in VB-MAPP Levels 1 and 2, giving a complete picture of where they are in their development and what to focus on next.

How Autism and the VB-MAPP Work Together

The VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones and Placement Program) has been a game-changer for understanding and helping my child with autism.

The connection between autism and the VB-MAPP is all about finding out where a child is developmentally and which skills need extra support.

Autism made it harder for my child to learn language, socialize, and handle new experiences.

The VB-MAPP became an essential tool because it works like a detailed road map, showing both strengths and areas that need more attention.

This helped me create better learning plans and focus on the skills that would help my child grow.

When my child was diagnosed with autism early on, the VB-MAPP Level 1 was the first thorough assessment we used.

It provided clear, straightforward information on what my child could do well and what needed more work.

With this insight, we knew exactly where to focus our teaching, making a big difference in my child’s development and progress.

My Personal Journey with VB MAPP Level 3

When my child was first diagnosed with autism, their specialist conducted the VB MAPP Level 3 assessment, including Level 1 and Level 2.

The results were sobering: the assessment showed that my child was significantly behind their peers.

The specialist suggested a special needs school, believing that an average school environment would be too challenging.

I disagreed with their professional assessment of my child and I decided to take a proactive approach.

I began teaching my child everything in the VB-MAPP levels, from the basics in Level 1 through to the milestones in VB MAPP Level 3.

This process has been challenging but incredibly rewarding.

With consistent work, my child has reached milestones that many thought impossible. That I was told would be impossible!

Today, thanks to mastering VB MAPP Level 3, my child is set to attend primary school with peers their age.

They can play, engage in group activities, and communicate effectively with other children.

This is absolutely a significant achievement that I wholeheartedly attribute to currently using the VB MAPP level 3 as a road map for development.

For any parent considering whether to teach the VB-MAPP milestones at home, I highly recommend it.

The guidance provided by this program can empower you to help your child not only catch up but thrive alongside their peers.

I find my autistic child to be much calmer, happier and have a much better understanding of their social surroundings.

It may take time and patience, but the end result is so worth it!

Ready to Get Started?

If you’re looking to begin this journey with your child, here is a downloadable version of VB MAPP Level 3, designed for ages 30-48 months

This can be a valuable tool for assessing progress and ensuring your child reaches their potential.

It simplifies everything that your child needs to learn and also because it is so simple, it makes it much easier to find activities for your autistic child that can help them learn this!

A little extra reading,

When I first came across ‘THE NEMECHEK PROTOCOL FOR AUTISM AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS: A How-To Guide For Restoring Neurological Function‘ I felt hopeful but cautious.

The book presents a fresh way of looking at autism through the lens of brain health, focusing on reducing inflammation and enhancing neurological function.

What I really loved was how Dr. Nemechek simplified everything.

No medical jargon that’s hard to grasp, just clear, straightforward steps like dietary changes, supplements, and gut health management.

For my child, who is on the autism spectrum and working through VB MAPP Level 3, this book offered unexpected benefits.

VB MAPP Level 3 is all about reaching those more advanced milestones, like building stronger language skills and better social interactions.

We were facing challenges in some of these areas, but implementing the tips from The Nemechek Protocol seemed to make a difference.

I began to see improvements in focus and overall engagement, making it easier for us to work through those tougher VB Mapp Level 3 tasks.

It felt like everything was aligning, understanding my autisic child’s strengths and challenges through the VB MAPP, while also supporting them with healthier brain function as suggested by the book.

It was a win win. Truly
